Hello friends, see you again with mbaleloo. This time we will tell stories and share experiences that have been passed. Do you know the function of an image illustration, if you haven't yet, let's peel it down a little and get to know what is meant by illustration.

Illustration is an image visualization to represent an idea, written work or idea that you want to appear through the image. Illustrations can be made through manual or digital images or through paintings that depict an idea, where the idea or idea can and will be enjoyed by many people and understood by many parties. Apart from painting, nowadays, many creators create illustrations of ideas using digital images, photography, or videography, as well as through other works of art.

The basic purpose of an illustration is to explain or decorate a story, writing, poem, or other written information. It is hoped that with the help of visuals, the writing is easier to digest. And from this illustration we can also see a little back about its history. The concept of illustration can be revisited to the past through prehistoric wall paintings and the concept of hieroglyphic writing.

The golden age of United States illustration took place in 1880, after World War I. This occurred along with the popularity of newspapers, magazines, and illustrated books that allowed the artist to experiment with techniques. It was during this time that many illustrators became rich and famous. The theme that often emerged was the aspirations of the American people at that time.

In Europe, artists during the golden age were influenced by the Pre-Raphaelite and design-oriented movements such as the Arts and Crafts Movement, Art Nouveau, and Les Nabis. Examples include Walter Crane, Edmund Dulac, Aubrey Beardsley, Arthur Rackham and Kay Nielsen.

At present, illustration is growing with the use of many auxiliary software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDraw, and CAD. However, traditional hand-drawn illustrations still hold great value.

In Indonesia, the history of the illustration tradition can refer to cave paintings found in Maros Regency, South Sulawesi province and on the island of Papua. The imprint of the illustration which is almost 5000 years old depicts a pile of red terracotta fingers. In addition to cave paintings, wayang beber in traditional Javanese and Balinese entertainment is seen as an illustration that represents the storyline of the Mahabharata, a tradition that roughly coincided with the establishment of the Hindu kingdom of Sriwijaya on the southern island of Sumatra.

And it is from this background that today illustrations are needed in various parts of the world. Not a few big companies are also competing to find an illustrator who can represent the company's ideas so that they can compete in the market in order to get loyal consumers with the results produced by the company. And this is a little information that might increase our knowledge regarding illustration and can increase our enthusiasm to stay as rich as possible so that we get maximum results and are liked by many people.
